YEAR ROUND CARE
As you may notice, Franklin Academy runs at a school year schedule, but we do have year-round care.
During the summer we shift to summer camp. Children over 6 are at the Athletic Club for camp while those under 6 are at the academy. There are a few main differences during summer. First, it is less academic focused and more fun and games. We spend a lot more time outside and bring in some in-house field trips. Children over 3 swim in the zero-entry pool daily. While our toddlers have water play several times per week. Registration and billing switch from monthly to weekly during the summer, giving families more flexibility. That way if you will be out of town for a certain week or certain days, you have the flexibility of not signing up for those days/not having to pay for them.
While summer camp is open to children beyond the ones enrolled at the academy, our academy children get priority registration. As for infants and children under two, we only accept that age if they are enrolled at the academy, which is why they are not listed in the summer camp guide. Children under 18 months pay the "tiny tot" rate due to lower ratios. Once a child is 18 months and enrolled at the academy, they would receive the member rate. The athletic club also offers school break camps. For infants there isn't really a difference in the daily schedule from the school year vs. camp.

PHILOSOPHY
Total development of the child (physical, emotional, social, and intellectual) is stressed throughout the program. We recognize that each child is unique and has individual growth patterns and abilities. The curriculum at Franklin Academy provides a variety of meaningful experiences for each child to actively participate in, allowing them to progress at their own individual developmental level. Children are encouraged to explore, to manipulate, to experiment, and to celebrate diverse cultures.

Additionally, through our exceptional physical enrichment classes, children will learn the importance of staying fit and healthy by participating in daily exercise such as creative movement, tennis, gymnastics, and intro to sports classes. It is our goal to help each child leave Franklin Academy with a healthy mind and body, good self-image, and an ability to take the next step in their educational life with enthusiasm and confidence.
